Pulsing Xenia - July 11, 1999

I had some trepidation introducing these to the tank since I kept reading about Xenia crashes. But I've been sure to give them a high light, high water current environment and regular doses of iodine. I've been rewarded with the rhythmic pulsing of the polyps and the growth and division of the stalks.. The two separated stalks toward the left came from a cutting from the stalk on the far right. When the cutting was made, the original stalk was in the location of the stalk second from the left. Xenia appear to move toward the light and the water current. I would love to get my hands on some Silver Tip Xenia or other exotic Xenia species.
